American InterContinental University is a leading international institution of higher learning. Formerly known as the American College of Applied Arts, American InterContinental University provides a number of Associate, Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs. American InterContinental University is committed to delivering programs that provide students with career training in business, criminal justice, design and media arts, engineering, education, and information technology fields.

American InterContinental University’s multi-campus institution of advanced learning is designed to help students acquire the most up-to-date industry-specific knowledge and skills as they pursue and advance their careers in many of today’s most desired fields.

Online Degrees

American InterContinental University Online is the web-based virtual campus of American InterContinental University. American InterContinental University’s mission is to provide for its student’s varying educational needs with the goal of preparing those students academically, personally, and professionally for their successful careers. American InterContinental University Online is dedicated to accomplishing this goal by making a quality online education available to its students.

American InterContinental University Online degree programs allow students the freedom to study online anytime to obtain their Associate’s, Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in a growing number of degree programs.
Online Associate’s Degrees include: Associate of Arts in Business Administration; Associate of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Criminal Justice Administration; Associate of Arts in Business Administration with concentrations in Healthcare Administration or Medical Coding and Billing; Associate of Arts in Business Administration (AABA) with a concentration in Information Systems; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Marketing; and Associate of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Visual Communication.
Online Bachelor’s Degrees include: Bachelor of Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Management; Bachelor of Information Technology; and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication.
Online Master’s Degree Programs include: Master of Business Administration; Master of Education; Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Healthcare Management; Master of Information Technology; and Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.

Financial Aid

American InterContinental University has many financial aid options. AIC participates in the following programs: The Federal Pell grant; The Academic Competitiveness Grant; The National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent Grant (also known as the National Smart Grant); The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG); The Federal PLUS loan; The Federal Graduate PLUS loan; and Federal Stafford loans.

Eligible American InterContinental University students may participate in the following Georgia State Aid Programs: Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant (GTEG); HOPE Scholarship (State of Georgia); and Georgia Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership (Georgia LEAP).

Grants and Scholarships

American InterContinental University offers students the opportunity to take advantage of a number of institutional grants and scholarships. University grants or scholarships are based on established criteria and are awarded after confirmation that conditions of eligibility have been met. As well, American InterContinental University is approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for Montgomery G.I. Bill benefits.

History

American InterContinental University (AIU) was founded in Europe in 1970. Its philosophy was that universities should go beyond t traditional approaches to education by providing students programs designed to prepare students for successful and industrious careers. In 1977, The American College of Applied Arts was established. The college offered courses in fashion and interior design in Atlanta, Los Angeles, London, and Dubai. The institution first received accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) in 1987. Steve Bostic bought the school in 1996 and changed its name to American InterContinental University. New programs were added and class sizes increased. In 2000, Bostic sold the institution to Career Education Corporation, a publicly traded operator of for-profit schools that had been established in 1994.

American InterContinental University Online began in 2001 and was recognized as a separate campus in 2002.

Associate’s Programs include: Associate of Arts in Business Administration; Associate of Arts in Media Production; Associate of Arts in Fashion; Associate of Arts in Fashion Design; Associate of Science in Criminal Justice; Associate of Arts in Visual Communication; Associate of Arts in International Business; and Associate of Arts in Interior Design.

Bachelor’s Programs include: Bachelor of Business Administration; Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Media Production; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communication; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Game Design and Development; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Marketing; Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Marketing and Design; Bachelor of Information Technology; Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business; and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design.

Master’s Programs include: Master of Business Administration; Master of Information Technology; Master of Business Administration in International Business; and Master of Education in Instructional Technology.
