History
Marist College began its history in 1905 when the Marist brothers came to the Hudson Valley with the intention of training young men to continue the Marist brothers’ vocation as educators. What began as a house with some property has grown over the years to over 150 acres. The first college courses were offered in 1929 under the name Marian College, and in 1946 it became a full four-year college.
