Overview

The University of Phoenix is the largest private university in North America, with nearly 200 handy locations. The university’s philosophy is based on the concept of making education accessible for working students. University of Phoenix has more than 100 degree programs at the associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels in key employment areas.

History

The University of Phoenix was founded more than thirty years ago by Dr. John Sperling. He saw a need for education institutions that were centered on daily life events of the working adult. He conceived how institutions would forge new approaches to curricular and program design, teaching methods, and student services. These beliefs eventually resulted in the creation of University of Phoenix and continue to inspire the University’s mission.

The colleges within the University offer a range of programs that include various disciplines such as: business, communication, criminal justice, education, health care, management, nursing, and information technology. University of Phoenix Colleges develop their degree programs, often in partnership with industry professionals, to ensure quality, significance, and thoroughness.
